The owners of Burslem-based Synectics Solutions have started negotiations to buy Port Vale Football Club.
Kevin and Carol Shanahan have entered into an exclusivity agreement with current chairman Norman Smurthwaite to discuss taking ownership of the League Two club by May 7th 2019.
If the deal is successful, the purchase of Port Vale will be made by the Shanahan family and will remain a separate legal entity to Synectics Solutions - which employs over 360 staff and is based next door to the club’s home – Vale Park.
Synectics Solutions Managing Director, Carol Shanahan, said: “We can confirm that we are delighted to have entered into an exclusivity agreement with Port Vale Football Club, to discuss purchasing it.
“Negotiations of this nature can be complex but we want to underline that any purchase will be made by the Shanahan family.
“I want to reassure Synectics clients, staff and suppliers that this will have no impact on Synectics - the management board and operations of the company will remain totally unaffected by this purchase.”
“If the deal is concluded we will be able to make a more comprehensive announcement about our plans for this great football club going forwards.”
Synectics Solutions moved to Burslem in 2016 from its offices on The Brampton, Newcastle-under-Lyme and has become an integral part of the Burslem community.
The company provides cutting-edge data solution services for a range of industries in the UK and internationally, helping them to reduce risk and combat financial crime.
